Ashli Mollinero

Director, Disabilities Resource Center Corporate Risk Management, UPMC

Ashli Molinero, DSc, joined UPMC Health System as the Director of the Disability Resource Center in 2015. In this capacity, she ensures accessible healthcare for people with disabilities through education and resource development, staff awareness and training, policy development and facility accessibility. Her commitment to patient advocacy and the delivery of exceptional care is demonstrated in her extensive history of 23 years of working in the hospital and rehabilitation health care industry concentrating in program evaluation, policy making, instructional design, curriculum development, facilitation, standards development and compliance, service excellence, and service recovery.

Prior to joining UPMC, Dr. Molinero was an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh in the Department of Rehabilitation Science and Technology where she taught ethics in the healthcare related professions, the individual experience of disability, undergraduate research methods, evidenced based practice in prosthetics and orthotics, and ethnography for quality of life technologies. She was clinical coordinator for graduate practicums in prosthetics and orthotics, rehabilitation counseling, and rehabilitation engineering. She was staff in several Rehabilitation Engineering Research Centers, including those on Wheeled Mobility, Spinal Cord Injury, Telerehabilitation, Information Communication Access Technologies and Wheelchair Transportation Safety. Dr. Molinero continues to serve as affiliate faculty for the Human Engineering Research Laboratories, a collaboration between the University of Pittsburgh and the Department of Veterans Affairs. She also serves on the Board of Advisors for the National Center on Family Support.
